Summer Camp for Youth

SPECTRUM COLLECTIVE
YOUTH SUMMER CAMP IN AKI STUDIO 

This month we will once again welcome youth from Regent Park into Aki Studio to participate in an annual FREE arts camp. Hosted in partnership with our Daniels Spectrum neighbours ArtHeart, Collective of Black Artists (COBA), Regent Park Film Festival (RPFF) and Regent Park School of Music (RPSM), the Spectrum Collective is free for youth to attend. Two Indians at SummerWorks 2016

SummerWorks festival is on now and this year there are many works to see by Indigenous artists. Two Indians by Falen Johnson, directed by Jessica Carmichael is considered a must-see. Also in the spotlight is Keith Barker's This Is How We Got Here, directed by Eli Ham. You can also catch If This Is The End written and performed by Shandra Spears Bombay.

In Saskatoon, Gordon Tootoosis NÄ«kānÄ«win Theatre (formerly the Saskatchewan Native Theatre Co.), is seeking a new Artistic Director. Deadline to apply is August 31st.

Dedra McDermott, graduate of the York University Department of Dance, is bringing a dance presentation to Aki Studio this fall. To Be Announced is a celebration of emerging and professional dance artists performing new creations and previously staged works by Jasmyn Fyffe, Alysa Pires, Kelly Shaw and Dedra McDermott. Single tickets are $12 or $10 for CADA Members.
