SA Peterborough
Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre

Each night, beneath the stars of the Southern Flinders, a light begins to glow beneath a mighty steam train. There’s a hiss of piston, a rush of steam, the cry of a guardsman – and an incredible industrial legacy slowly comes to life.
Peterborough’s Steamtown was once a vast rail operation where over 100 steam locomotives passed through each day before heading to all corners of Australia.
Today, that legacy is preserved – and you’re invited to experience it for yourself.

In daylight hours, you’ll tour the sheds and the extraordinary heritage-listed ‘Roundhouse’ before getting hands-on with heroic locos and luxury carriages.

And at night, you’ll thrill to the award-winning ‘Sound and Light Show’, when this powerful story plays out on a stage like no other.

NSW Singleton
Sacred Sisters / Sisters of Mercy

In 1995 the Sisters of Mercy Singleton commenced "Sacred Spaces" to open their extensive buildings and spacious gardens for the use and enjoyment of the wider community for activities embracing the Mercy values of spirituality, service, hospitality and culture.
The story of this convent is first and foremost the story of a dedicated, intelligent and enterprising group of women whose influence spread well beyond their established roots.
In its grounds, buildings and contents it holds the memory of a way of life for Catholic women that was once quite common, but is now rapidly disappearing – the life of “the nun”. Its story is representative of the stories of founding convents of nuns throughout the state.
