We launched Contemplating Co-ops today, with a welcome post from Centre Director Murray Fulton and an explanation of what to expect in the coming months.Watch for the first substantive post tomorrow, when Brett Fairbairn will discuss the uncertain, but intriguing, future of credit union branches.
Contemplating Co-ops will tackle the most current issues facing co-operatives and credit unions around the world.
The new blog will look at everything from how co-ops and credit unions allocate internal control and authority, to the challenges they face in dealing with issues such as food security and environmental protection, to the ways in which they may or may not work in new settings such as Indigenous communities.
Contemplating Co-ops will be authored by faculty and staff at the Centre and by our colleagues from around the world. Material will be drawn from the research we're doing and observations we make on what's happening in the sector.
We want to hear what you think, so don’t hesitate to comment on the posts in the window provided or send us notes.
