DELLTA students score higher in ESL achievement tests than their peers

We are very pleased to share with you the news that, for the second consecutive year, ArtsConnection’s DELLTA program (Developing English Language Literacy Through the Arts) has delivered positive results showing “significant” progress made by DELLTA students as compared to those who did not participate in the program.
The data, based on students’ results on the NY State English as a Second Language Achievement Test, were produced by Dr. Rob Horowitz and his team from Teachers College Columbia University for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years.  Specifically, in the most recent cohort, DELLTA students progressed 43% on the standardized test, versus the comparison group’s progress of 31.6%.  In addition, DELLTA students experienced significantly less slippage in progress, indicating that DELLTA encourages skill retention as well as acquisition.

ArtsConnection's DELLTA model has been featured in NY State's TESOL Journal, National Dance Education Organization's Evidence Report and Dance Teacher Magazine. You can read the articles by clicking on the logos below.
