Jubilee Excellence Schools (JES) training first term 2016
10 Students enrolled for the January 2016 course. They came from as far as Prince Albert, Klaarstroom, Wallacedene, Koue Bokkeveld and Klipheuwel.

Some had a bit of a teaching background, others had never worked with a child in their life, but they all had one thing in common; they wanted to learn and they wanted to be agents of change in their communities.

When referring to the education that children in Jubilee Excellence Schools receive, we always mention preparing children for life rather than just for school. January 2016 JES training succeeded in doing just that. One of the ladies wrote the following after completing the JES training: “Initially I thought we would just be trained as teachers, but the course turned out to be so much more. We grew spiritually and through prayer and support we were healed. The curriculum teaches kids to work independently.  Maths, language and culture is presented in such a way that kids learn to be self-assured.”

As a JES team we realised again how crucial the ten week course is in holistically enabling ladies to develop their God given skills and to become driven by their specific purpose and passion. What a privilege to see passion put into action in each developing JES teacher’s life.

Children have a lifetime of learning ahead. The most important thing is to teach them today, is how to love learning.

2 Thessalonians 3:13
But ye, brethren, be not weary in doing well.
Sam Barends very meticulously introducing the golden beads to a student.
Liema Delport busy demonstrating the geometric solids to a very willing and curious student
Ashleigh Soetland demonstrating how to focus ones listening as to distinguish between different sounds. This also enhances the child's ability to develop her auditory discrimination skills.
Emotions run high when students realize that this is the end of their JES training journey and that they have successfully completed all tasks with excellence.
Ashleigh Soetland- Proud of her achievement and ready to start changing the lives of the children in her community.
Learning to write the number three as demonstrated by Elsabe Abrahams.
Selina Cronje explaining the teen board and how the zero is a place holder for another number.
Lize Viljoen explaining the spindle box which conveys the meassge that the number zero means that there is nothing. No spindles in the zero box
An emotional moment when realizing that a dream of achievement comes true.
(To impact a life is changing not only the household but also the community.)
Lize Viljoen super excited about God’s plan for her life as a new JES teacher.
So proud to see students accept their certificates and to aknoledge the fruit of their hard work.
