STP Phase 2 - Employee Transition

Many of you have been asking "What do I need to do to be STP Phase 2 compliant?" and we finally have a roadmap to share with you. Single Touch Payroll (STP) is a way of reporting your employees’ salaries, wages, tax withheld and superannuation to the ATO with each payrun.

Stage 1 - Employee Transition  (from late August)
You will need to transition your existing employees to be STP Phase 2 compliant. This will involve providing new details on these staff. For example, is the staff member an employee or a contractor?

Xero's STP Phase 2 Employee Profile - Fact Sheet
Stage 2 - Identify & Reclassify Pay Items (coming soon!)
New earning types will be created in Xero Payroll. You will then need to identify and reclassify pay items with these new earning types.
Stage 3 - Review & Update Leave (coming soon!)
Paid leave will be broken down into additional subcategories, so you will need to review and update your existing leave items. Xero will provide more guidance on these new reporting requirements.

Xero Price Increase
Effective from the September Bill 

We are writing to let you know that Xero are increasing their pricing. The increase is different per plan, so please keep an eye on your next Xero bill. Don't forget to update your recurring payments to reflect this change.
