U.S. Battery Employee Alfredo Bermudez Featured In “Faces Of Manufacturing In Georgia”
Corona, CA – With manufacturing plants in Evans and Augusta, Georgia, U.S. Battery Manufacturing’s Plant Supervisor Alfredo Bermudez, was featured in the 2016 “Faces Of Manufacturing In Georgia.” Developed by the Georgian Manufacturing Extension Partnership at Georgia Tech, “Face Of Manufacturing In Georgia” showcases inspirational stories on hard-working, dedicated people throughout the state that work for manufacturing companies which impact Georgia communities and the thriving manufacturing industry within the state.
Among various other nominees, Bermudez was selected as the December feature, which tells his story on how he was born in San Jeronimito, Mexico, raised by his grandmother, and had to work several jobs while getting an education. At age 20, he moved to the United States and found a position at U.S. Battery Manufacturing’s Augusta, Georgia plant. “I never pursued a title,” said Bermudez. “I just worked hard and they began to offer me promotions.”
Bermudez is now celebrating 24 years working at U.S. Battery Manufacturing, and was honored to have been chosen to tell his inspiring story. “When I first started, there were only about 50 people working at my plant,” said Bermudez. “I’ve seen a lot of growth…now we have almost 300 people working in two plants!”
Every month, the “Faces Of Manufacturing In Georgia” honors someone within the Georgia manufacturing community. To read Bermudez’s story, visit http://facesofmanufacturing.com/portfolio/alfredo-bermudez/
