The Women's Council: November 2016 Newsletter
I have really enjoyed connecting with several of you over the past couple of months. You may have heard from other Steering Committee members who reached out to ask you about your hopes and dreams for the Women’s Council.

Two important themes are emerging.
  1. Community:  We value connecting with each other, learning from each other and helping each other.
  2. Getting more involved: We love the idea of giving back, and really want outlets for our energy and talent.
We are dedicating our All-Council Meeting on November 17 to these topics.  We will break into small groups and generate ideas for how we plan to go forward.  If you want to get more involved, please do your best to attend this meeting and share how you want to be involved.
How can we build even stronger connections with each other and the community?  What do we want our legacy to look like?  What will we accomplish?  How can we engage? I’m excited about what may come out of our discussions.  We may find we are really happy with the roles we play today - we accomplish so much!  Our mentoring program is a smashing success.  Our main event, The WILD Summit, drew over 600 women from the community together last year and netted over $50,000.  We are highly visible at the Leeds school – many of you have spoken in classes, judged contests, coached students at the Sophomore Summit, and so much more.

Or, we may find we’d like to push the envelope a little.

My goal is to be sure the Women’s Council is structured to enable the highest value creation for our members and the communities we serve.  Our work on the 17th will be the foundation for our 5-year strategic plan.

Did I mention how much I want you to be a part of this conversation? Hope to see you on the 17th!

All the best,
Julie Imig
Women’s Council Chair
