Annual Virtual Meeting - Zero Waste Panel Discussion
Seeking New Board Members

Annual Virtual Meeting - Tues Sept 29th

Zero Waste Panel Discussion and Networking Sessions with Other Attendees

Like many organizations, this will be our first virtual annual meeting.

We have details for you about our 2020 annual meeting on Tuesday, September 29th from 6:00 to 7:30PM PST

Highlighting our event will be a panel discussion on Zero Waste Businesses, featuring:
During the meeting, we will provide updates on our campaigns and path forward, and allocate time for you to network with other live attendees. We will also be announcing our new officers for 2020-2021, and voting for new board members. Read below if you are interested in joining our board!

  • 6:00-6:20 Kickoff and Introductions, New Board Members, Networking
  • 6:20-7:00 Zero Waste Business Panel Discussion
  • 7:00-7:20 Networking and Campaign Updates
  • 7:20-7:30 New Officers for 2020-2021, Q&A, Wrap Up
For the networking sessions, we will randomly assign you to a breakout group for 5 minutes with a small group of attendees to get to know other like-minded people, and then we will rotate you into another group for 5 more minutes. Much easier than walking up to strangers in a live event!

Seeking New Board Members - Reach out before Sept 29th

We are seeking new board members to continue to grow the size of our board.

We will be selecting a new board President and Vice President from our current board, and will announce them at our annual meeting on Sept 29th.

We are also in need of a Treasurer to replace Holly Hummel, who has been our Treasurer for the past 6 years, and has retired and is spending more time outside of Oregon. She will be stepping down at the end of next year, but we want to find someone this year to help with the transition.

In summary, we are looking for the following:

  • Board Member (Treasurer)
  • Board Member (At-Large)
  • Board Member (At-Large)
  • Board Member (At-Large)

There is no experience required for joining the board, just a passion for our mission and a few hours a month available to participate in board and committee meetings.

Recycling Advocates is committed to advocating for waste equity and environmental justice. In order to help with this effort, we are seeking to increase diversity within our board of directors. If you are a member of the BIPOC community, we strongly encourage you to apply!

You might have a few questions about our board of directors positions, so we created a document for your review with a FAQ that explains more about the positions.

Feel free to contact one of our current or past board members to learn more about how you can help us give local citizens a voice in how we reduce, reuse and recycle in Oregon!

If you'd like to be considered for this year, please reach out by Sunday Sept 27th!

Become a member of Recycling Advocates and help us continue to spread the word about waste prevention.
