US Space Command HQ Basing Info Session 1: Eligibility Overview
Please mark your calendar and register to attend a Space Florida-hosted event to review and discuss the recently expanded criteria to locate the US Space Command Headquarters anywhere in the country. Florida, and Florida communities, are strong candidates to receive this honor.
Space Florida in partnership with Enterprise Florida, The Florida Defense Support Task Force, The Florida Defense Alliance, and Keiser University is hosting this event to facilitate information for Florida communities to best communicate their strengths to the US Space Force. Attendees must register.
FEDC would like to pay tribute to our friend and colleague, Beatriz Bare, who is transitioning from her position at the Tampa Bay EDC to a new career opportunity. Bea is a professional economic developer with expertise in matching prospects’ priorities with relevant, current information and connecting them with subject matter experts. She specializes in working on complex and highly competitive projects with CEOs, community leaders, consultants, brokers, and other decision-makers involved in the site selection process.
During her time at the Tampa Bay EDC, Bea has led successful team efforts for such projects as Advanced Airfoil Components, Amgen, Baker McKenzie, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Coca-Cola Refreshments, Cognizant, DTCC, Gordon Food Service, MetLife, PwC, Quest Diagnostics, Toufayan Bakeries, USAA, and White & Case.
Bea’s projects since 1980 in Tampa Bay and for seven years in Southwest Florida have yielded over $2.25 billion in direct capital investment and 26,000+ direct jobs. Examples of client companies include Bristol-Myers Squibb, Citi, Coca-Cola Refreshments, Chromalloy, DTCC, GFS, MetLife, New York Life/AARP, NexLube, PwC, TW Business Services, Time Customer Service, Tampa Ship, Toufayan Bakeries, Verizon Wireless.
Bea has a great sense of humor that manifests itself in creative ways. She has authored several articles and enjoys public speaking. Her past experience includes the banking, legal, residential development, training, and development fields.
In 1998 Bea was the recipient of the FEDC Eunice Sullivan Award Economic Development Professional of the Year for the State of Florida.
Bea is trilingual, was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, and is privileged to be an American citizen since June 12, 1987.
