We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for SPLC Connect, the sustainability-focused buyer-supplier matchmaking event that takes place May 24th – just before the Summit kicks off that evening. Organized by purchaser members of the Council, last year's Connect event received praise from buyers and suppliers.

The March 18th deadline to apply for one of SPLC's Leadership Awards is rapidly approaching. Download the submission instructions to see how you can earn recognition. Awards will be presented in front of hundreds of professionals at the 2016 Summit's Leadership Awards Banquet.

Registration is still open for our Pre-Summit Courses taking place on Monday, May 23rd, before the Summit. These courses are open to anyone, not just Summit attendees. Space is limited, so register today!

This week we are busy confirming speakers for the Summit's forty-two workshops. We can't wait to announce the full program next week!

As always, thanks for reading SPLC Update.

Submit your work for a Leadership Award

Deadline is rapidly approaching! 3/18

Submit your work for a leadership award! Leadership Awards for Organizations
SPLC's Leadership Awards recognize organizations that have demonstrated or actively supported the kind of leadership envisioned in SPLC’s Principles for Leadership in Sustainable Purchasing. The Leadership and Outstanding Case Study Awards are based on case studies from candidate organizations. Learn about the Awards Categories and submission process.

Leadership Awards for Individuals
New this year, we are soliciting nominations for the SPLC's Individual Leadership Award(s). This Award will recognize one or more individuals whose vision, leadership, and dedicated effort have significantly advanced the sustainable purchasing movement. Download the nomination instructions.

Case Study Spotlight: U.S. Department of Energy

Beginning today, we will make one Leadership Award case study available via the SPLC newsletter. We are doing this to 1) celebrate the excellent work on sustainable purchasing featured in last year's Leadership Awards case studies, 2) give a taste of what the member-only SPLC Case Study Database holds, and 3) build excitement for this year's Leadership Awards program.

The first spotlight in this series is the United States Department of Energy's case study of their GreenBuy program. This submission won SPLC's highest Leadership Award in 2015: the Overall Purchasing Program Award. Read the case study to learn about DOE's innovative approach to incentivizing sustainable procurement via peer to peer engagement and collaboration of the DOE sites in its Sustainable Acquisition Working Group.

Want to receive this kind of recognition for your work in sustainable purchasing. Apply for an SPLC Leadership Award
