It was so wonderful to be back in church last Sunday. If you missed last week’s sermon on loving the imperfections, you can view it here.
Looking ahead to this week, we’ll be talking about our values. A conflict of values is at the heart of the conflict the Apostle addresses with the Jesus-followers in Corinth. So I want us to think about our own core values and to have intention in how we name and live them out.
What are your core values? In preparation for worship Sunday, I invite you to think and pray on this.
God bless you all.
Love,
Pastor Kaji
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:1-6 (Year W)
1 Dare any of you having a concern against another, go to court before the unrighteous and not before the saints? 2 Do you all not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we are to judge angels—to say nothing of ordinary matters? 4 If you have ordinary cases, then, do you appoint as judges those who have no standing in the church? 5 I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to decide between one believer and another, 6 but a believer goes to court against a believer—and before unbelievers at that?
Children and Youth Ministry Update
from Nordia Bennett, Children’s Minister
Hi Park Family,
Last Sunday, the 10:00 am (4th grade or older) youth explored “The Narrow Door”, Luke 13:22-30 in the “Who Can We Be Together? A Biblical Exploration of Luke 13”. We chatted about how we open ourselves to community and see people around us clearly by showing acts of kindness. The 10:00 am (3rd grade or younger) children dove into the “David and Goliath” narrative in the Sparks Story Bible: Spark a Journey Through God’s Word.
This Sunday, the 10:00 am (4th grade or older) youth will explore “The Fox and Hen”, Luke 13:31-35 in the “Who Can We Be Together? A Biblical Exploration of Luke 13”. The 10:00 am (3rd grade or younger) children will learn the “Solomon Builds the Temple” narrative in the Sparks Story Bible: Spark a Journey Through God’s Word.
