SystemX signs a MoU with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore

SystemX has announced the signature of a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with NTU in Singapore.
This MoU was signed by Éric Perrin-Pelletier (CEO - SystemX) and Professor LAM Khin Yong (Chief of Staff and Vice President Research - NTU) during the Singapore-France Innovation Forum organized by the French Embassy and the A*STAR Agency on March 27, in the presence of the President of the French Republic François Hollande
This MoU embodies the wish of the two players to develop close collaboration in their R&D activities. It is also a first step in SystemX’s future ambition to locate in Singapore in 2018.

START@SystemX: launch of the first season on Blockchain

On May 3, START@SystemX will launch its first season on Blockchain. This season is dedicated to startups that are working towards developing new services and usages with the blockchain technology. Selected startups will be offered the opportunity to work collaboratively with industrial and academic stakeholders of the BST (Blockchain for Smart Transactions) project for a 6-month period as of September 2017.
As a reminder, the START@SystemX program gives startups and large industrial companies the opportunity to work together to foster innovation.


Feedback on #SystemX17

Artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital simulation and Blockchain, among others, were the technologies at the heart of IRT SystemX’s annual event, Future@SystemX. More than 1,000 people came on March 14 to discover the latest advances in the institute’s R&D projects and the main results of its partners during DigitalDays@Nano-INNOV, the joint event between IRT SystemX and CEA List.

Autonomous vehicles, digital simulation, cybersecurity, smart city, mobility, blockchain etc, were all present at the first edition of ThesisDay@SystemX, on February 22!
Throughout the afternoon, our PhD students presented their research efforts to over 100 participants. They notably took the stage in succession in a “3 minutes to convince” session: inspired from the “My Thesis in 180 seconds” competition, this exercise enabled them to present their subjects in a mere three minutes.

Makhlouf Hadji defended his HDR

On March 3 Makhlouf Hadji, research engineer, successfully defended his Docent Habilitation (HDR) on the following topic: "Mathematical Optimization Methods for NFV and Cloud Resource Allocation Problems”. He came back on this distinction.


My Thesis in Three Years

Timothée Leblond, PhD student, completed his doctoral thesis on the subject of "Gradient-based methods for shape optimization on CAD parameters”. He came back on the three years of his doctoral thesis within the ROM project.


Prove & Run wins the Embedded Award 2017

On March 14, Prove & Run won the Embedded Award 2017 in the Software category with ProvenCore-M for ARM® TrustZone® technology on the ARMv8-M architecture. The award, granted by an independent jury of experts, pays tribute to especially innovative products or development that are unique and future oriented.


Scilab Enterprises joined ESI Group

On February 27, ESI Group, pioneer and leader in Virtual Prototyping solutions, announced the acquisition of Scilab Enterprises SAS, publisher of Scilab. Scilab provides a world class powerful environment for engineering computation and scientific applications.


UPSaclay STIC Department Seminar

The UPSaclay department of research STIC (Information Science and Technology) organized a seminar on April 6 in Inria Saclay premises. François Meyer (University of Colorado) held a talk on the following topic: "Tracking the Evolution of Dynamic Networks".


Call for Papers CSD&M 2017

The CSD&M conference is the annual meeting point for both industrial and academic actors working in industrial fields, dealing with complex systems and technical & scientific methods used to model and to master these types of systems. This 8th conference, organized in partnership with SystemX, will especially covers the theme “Towards smarter and more autonomous systems”. Submission deadline of full paper is April 22!


Digital Simulation Trophies

The Digital Simulation Trophies, organized by TERATEC, is an unmissable meeting for international experts in design and high-performance digital simulation. Six trophies will be given to reward champions in digital simulation, HPC and Big Data. You have a project or an innovative approach to present? Submit your application before April 21!

OpenAltaRica Workshop
Over 40 experts in complex systems engineering participated in the OpenAltaRica workshop, organized by the OAR project on March 30. On the day agenda: a tutorial session on modeling and presentations and discussions on AltaRica 3.0 language and its associated tools.

From February 27 to March 3, Michel Batteux (OAR project manager) delivered a course on complex systems engineering at the École Centrale de Pékin (China), a CentraleSupélec school.


Autonomous Transport

OPTIS partners with SystemX to simulate the autonomous vehicle
OPTIS joins the SVA project (Simulation for the safety of autonomous vehicle), launched by SystemX, to bring its know-how in simulation of optical sensors to tests by the use of virtual prototypes of autonomous vehicles.

SystemX Involvement in the #FranceIA National Strategy
On January 20, the government launched "France IA", a national initiative on artificial intelligence. SystemX was involved in this strategy in leading a working group dedicated to autonomous transport and artificial intelligence, alongside with the Directorate General for Enterprises (DGE). On March 21, the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie hosted the closing event of #FranceIA. On this occasion, the Synthesis Report of the working groups has been submitted to François Hollande, President of the French Republic.

Anthropolis and MADP Chairs' Colloquium
The Anthropolis Chair (SystemX / CentraleSupélec) and the MADP chair (Sciences Po) will hold a colloquium on the topic of Smart Urban Mobility on May 11. More specifically, this collaborative study day will explore innovative products and services and its implications for the public law.

The Ile de Science Paris-Saclay association organized a colloquium dedicated to the new areas of creativity on March 21. Jakob Puchinger (Anthropolis Chair holder) held a talk on the following subject: "Anthropolis, the human at the center of urban mobility". 


Internet of Trust

SystemX involvement in IoT security
On April 5, Philippe Wolf (EIC project manager) attended the SIDO event in Lyon, the showroom of intelligence of things. He talked at a conference about the IoT (Internet of Things) security by presenting the research efforts conducted in this field within the EIC (Environment for Cybersecurity Interoperability and Integration) project and sharing some good practices.

The Cloud Computing World Expo held from March 22 to 23 in Paris. Makhlouf Hadji, research engineer within the STC (Telecommunications and Cloud Services) project, gave a talk on the following topic: "Cloud and prospective: artificial intelligence and machine learning".

SystemX exhibits its researches in cybersecurity to a Japanese Delegation
On March 16, SystemX hosted a Japanese delegation composed of 20 cybersecurity experts. The delegation discovered the institute's activities in the fields of cybersecurity with the EIC (Environment for Cybersecurity Interoperability and Integration) and CTI (Cybersecurity for Intelligent Transport) projects. 
This visit was organized by Hervé Debar, Head of the Telecommunications Networks and Services department at Télécom SudParis - IMT.


FIT elects its new Bureau
On March 9, the FIT (French Institutes of Technology) association, federating the eight French IRTs, elected its new Bureau for the next two years. Vincent Marcatté, President of IRT b<>com, has been reappointed as the President of the Association. Gilbert Casamatta, President of IRT Saint Exupéry, get his mandate as Vice-President renewed. Éric Perrin-Pelletier, CEO of IRT SystemX, has been elected Secretary-General and Alexandre Moulin, Deputy CEO of IRT BIOASTER, has been named Treasurer.
