Smart City Expo World Congress Feedback

SystemX participated in Smart City Expo World Congress from 15 to 17 November in Barcelona. SCEWC is the most recognized global event dealing with smart cities.
During this three-day event, SystemX presented on its booth its research efforts in the field of Smart Territories: smart mobility, smart energy, media analytics and trust as a service


SystemX as Part of a Paris Region Business Tour 

On November 15, SystemX welcomed a delegation from the Paris Region economic development agency. Visitors had the opportunity to find out more about the institute's research efforts in the fields of cybersecurity & safety and on the use of augmented reality in autonomous vehicles.


DCIDE and VITAL Platforms Team took the Floor

On November 25, Systematic and SystemX welcomed 40 students from Sorbonne University and ENSTA ParisTech. During their visit, students had the opportunity to discover two SystemX technological platforms: DCIDE (computational platform for decision making) and VITAL (intelligence for automated processing of languages). 


"Data on Board" 

On December 8, members of the Business Club gathered in OpenDataSoft premises to share about the data topic.
SystemX Business Club aims to provide some unique momentum to foster synergies between industrial partners, and in particular to make SMEs more visible within large groups and accelerate business interactions. 


SystemX Adresses Trust Issues for the Smart Cities

The DigiWorld Summit took place from 15 to 17 November and had "The Digital Trust Economy" as its central theme. This event is the opportunity to engage in a meaningful international debate over digital trust issues. François Stephan (Deputy CEO - International & Development) spoke in a panel session about "How to build trust in the smart city?".


Short-listed Startups pitched to be part of START@SystemX

On November 23,  the startups short-listed to join the START@SystemX Mobility program have been heard by a dedicated jury. The final announcement of the selected startups will be made public on December 15. Stay tuned!


SystemX Involvement in Cybersecurity Challenges

On November 23, PwC France organized, with GEOS and ADIT, a conference on the subject of global security. François Stephan (Deputy CEO - International & Development) participated in a panel session on cybersecurity. He notably highlighted the new cybersecurity challenges resulting to digital transformation and Internet of Things development.


My Thesis in Three Years

Sarah Julisson, PhD student, completed her doctoral thesis on the following topic: “Development of vibro-acoustical optimization criteria for surfacic structures”. She came back on the three years of her doctoral thesis within the ROM project.


Systran Testimony

Systran, pioneer in language technologies, provided in video a feedback on its partnership with SystemX. The CEO, Jean Senellart, shared tangible results built within the IMM project which support his company in the development of their automated language-processing tools.


Jean-Luc Beylat Reelected to the Chair of Systematic

On November 23, Jean-Luc Beylat has been unanimously reelected as Chairman of the Systematic Paris-Region Competitiveness Cluster for the next three years (2017-2019). Within this new mandate, he aspires to establish the Systematic Paris-Region Cluster as a leading partner for significant projects and markets in the field of digital transformation.


A Travel Beyond the Limits with TEDXSaclay

The second edition of the TEDxSaclay event took place in EDF Lab Paris-Saclay premises on November 30. On the agenda: talks by renowned researchers, engineers, musicians and so on, and a space to exhibit innovations from Paris-Saclay startups.  


ANR Digital Meetings Feedback

ANR Digital Meetings held from 16 to 17 November in Paris. During this two-day event, the National Research Agency (ANR) proposed widening the scientific discussions by addressing issues linked to the challenges of the digital sciences, whether social, political or economic, with plenary sessions and digital world areas. 


Efficacity Forum: the Innovation for Sustainable Cities

Efficacity is a R&D institute dedicated to energy transition in urban mobility. The institute organized its annual forum on December 5 in order to present its innovations to facilitate the development of more sustainable cities.

On November 17, Étienne de Pommery (Agile Industry Program Director) attended the Airbus Safran Launchers / Airbus Space & Defense Research & Technology day. He presented the SystemX activities within the field of engineering tools and methods design.

International Conference on Computational Science (ICCS 2016)
Université Paris-Saclay and CentraleSupélec hosted the ICCS 2016 in Paris from November 28 to December 2. The purpose of this event was to bring together mathematicians and computational scientists to exchange on new approaches, methods and algorithms in the areas of advanced computing for complex problems. Frédéric Magoulès (CentraleSupélec/APA project) was pleased to welcome this conference in SystemX premises on December 2.

Autonomous Transport

Microsoft rewards ITS Security (ISE) Project with access to its “Azure” Cloud platform
On November 17, the Microsoft Azure international research competition awarded a 20,000 $ prize to Pierpaolo Cincilla (research engineer, ISE project). This prize will help to finance the project’s research into security of ITS cooperative systems.
As a result, the team will carry out dynamic sizing tests on ITS cooperative systems, using Microsoft’s Cloud platform, Azure.

ISE Project deployed its PKI at the ITS Cooperative Mobility Services event
From 9 to 18 November, the ISE project attended the ITS Cooperative Mobility Services event, which gathered members from the ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute. The ISE project took the opportunity of this event to deploy its reliable and secure PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) developed to respond to the issue of large-scale design in order to be able to distribute billions of digital identities to the ITS embedded stations.

Internet of Trust

Telecommunications and Cloud Services (STC) project launch
SystemX launches STC project which is based on convergence between Software Defined Networking proposed in the form of virtualized functions deployed in a Cloud Computing environment. Its main goal is to set up algorithms to orchestrate and manage the Cloud-RAN functions which will also be deployed on a dedicated platform.

SDN 2016 Day
Organized by Orange, the SDN (Software-Defined Networking) day took place on November 23. Makhlouf Hadji (research engineer in the STC project) held a talk on the following topic: "Algorithms for Problems of Placement of VNFs Channels".

Smart Territories

End of the Modeling-Interoperability-Cooperation (MIC) Project
Launched in 2013, the MIC project was focused on multi-modal transportation, for which the challenge is to optimize multi-modal mobility by finding the right balance between transport time, cost, energy consumption and access to transports.

The PhD students of the HCU project presented their research subjects at the Université Paris-Saclay Interfaces' Doctoral School Day on November 23.


Meeting with a Brazilian Delegation

On November 15, Systematic welcomed a Brazilian Delegation with representatives from 26 Research Agencies. François Stephan (Deputy CEO - International & Development) presented SystemX activities and opened up avenues for cooperation with the institute's R&D projects and technological platforms.
