Louis Gallois
Louis Gallois, General Commissioner for Investment, came to visit SystemX to discuss about the institute's status. A demo tour showcased 4 projects: FSF with the component factory, ELA and LRA with the autonomous and connected car and MIC with multimodal mobility. Seminar about mathematical modelling in mechanics
On March, 20th, Paul de Nazelle, research engineer in SystemX, gave a talk on mathematical modelling in mechanics. The 8th edition of CSIS event (Collège des sciences de l'Ingénierie et des Systèmes) took place on March, 20th with the goal of gathering CSIS' members and sharing research works of each other. CSIS' main objective is to federate the ICT community located in Paris-Saclay.

CEA List's TechDay
On March 20th, The CEA List organized its Tech Day, focused on three main topics: cybersecurity, advances manufacturing, SME & value creation. The event ended with a showcase of their technologies. Learn more about CEA List Activities

Mines-Télécom scientific seminar
The Institut Mines-Télécom organized a seminar in order to present research breakthroughs in the following fields: big data and safety, industrial complex systems, very large networks and systems. Debates were also planned to discuss notably the "digital sovereignty". Read more about the event.

R&D projects

ROM Project
Jean-Claude Fort, Professor at Paris Descartes University, joins ROM project as an invited member until August 2014. Specialist of probabilistic modelling and industrial applications, his contribution will be very helpful to the project.

SIP Project
SystemX and CESAMES association co-organized a debate on the theme "Improving collaborative functionings with PLM". Nicolas Figay, SIP project manager and François Stephan, the Systems of Systems program director, were part of the speakers.

FSF Project
On March, 26th, FSF project presented its demonstrator (the "Passenger Exchange" application on Ksuite simulator) created by Alstom Transport and Krono-Safe in the context of the ADN4SE consortium meeting.

MIC Project
Four news partners joined MIC project :
  • SNCF is interested in modelling Transilien's lines
  • The Cosmo Company provides its own tool and wants to seize the opportunity of this collaboration to improve it
  • Artelys wants to model and assess the demand for multimodal mobility
  • IDIT brings legal knowledge to the project in the field of multimodal transport governance
 Cloud CREE Project
Interns of Cloud CREE project, that began in the course of March, runned a heads up session to present the stakes of their internship: managing cloud resources (metaplacement, consolidation, network virtualization) according to improved modules in Openstack technology.

Conference MMB & DFT 2014
In March, James Roberts was invited to speak at the conference MMB & DFT 2014 ("Measurement, Modelling and Evaluation of Computing Systems" and "Dependability and Fault-Tolerance") in Bamberg, Germany  ( He gave a talk on the performance of caching in information-centric networks and how the realized memory for bandwidth tradeoff is likely to impact the architecture of the future Internet.
