The French Technological Research Institutes (IRT) meet each year to present their research activities and results to academic and industrial stakeholders. This year, the fourth edition of the IRT Forum will be hosted by SystemX in the EDF Lab Paris-Saclay R&D center on October 18th. On the day agenda: interviews, panel session and testimonies. Above all, participants will have the opportunity to attend a keynote from Gilles Babinet, Digital Champion for France at the European Commission, and a speech from Louis Schweitzer, Commissioner General of Investment. 


START@SystemX Kick-Off Event

On September 21st, START@SystemX will launch the first season of the program. This season is focused on Mobility and dedicated to startups that are working towards improving the mobility of the future. The selected startups will be offered the opportunity to work collaboratively with industrial and academic stakeholders for a 6-month period as of January 2017.

SystemX Business Club Meeting

SystemX Business Club aims to provide a unique momentum to foster synergies between industrial partners, and in particular to make SMEs more visible within Large Groups and accelerate Business interactions. On September 8th, SystemX welcomed its Business Club in a new format, gathering 50 of its Industrial partners. During this meeting, after a presentation by Eric Perrin-Pelletier (CEO) of the 3-year SystemX main achievements and its strategic plan, some industrial partners shared their R&D roadmap and intentions to collaborate.


Automotive Research Committee

On July 6th, Paul Labrogère (Autonomous Transport Program Director) held a talk on Artificial Intelligence for the autonomous and connected cars at the French Automotive Research Committee meeting. The role of this committee is to join forces and bring together the major stakeholders of the automotive research industry. 

IEEE 2016 Conferences

Those three conferences took place in Paris from 24th to 26th August and gathered more than 125 participants.


Patrice Aknin joins SystemX as Scientific Director

Patrice Aknin has just been appointed as the new full-time Scientific Director of SystemX, taking over Daniel Krob who has structured the Scientific direction of SystemX. As a member of SystemX’s operational management team, his main activities will be to define and implement the Institute’s scientific strategy by identifying and organizing research challenges that have yet to be resolved and the scientific responses required to industrial problems. He also coordinates relations with the academic ecosystem of the institute and pilots the doctoral program.


Testimony by Intempora

The software publisher Intempora provided in video a feedback on its partnership with SystemX. The CEO, Nicolas Dulac, shared a tangible result built within the ELA (Automotive Electronics and Software) project which is the development of a newest version of the RTMaps software.


Trialog's Involvement in Cybersecurity and Privacy 

Trialog has just released a new brochure about its cybersecurity and privacy research activities. The company works closely with SystemX in these fields, particularly within the ISE and CTI projects. 


SATT National Convention

The second SATT National Convention will take place on October 21st in Paris with the objective of highlighting the anchoring of the 14 French SATT (societies for acceleration of technology transfer) within the national innovation ecosystem.


Systematic Upcoming Plenary Meetings

From September 13th to October 5th, Systematic will organize its thematic working groups’ plenary meetings and projects workshops. These working groups are focused on the following topics: “Telecom”, “ICT & Health”, “Intelligent Management of Energy”, “Design and Systems Development Tools”, “Transport and Mobility”, “Digital Cities”, “Open Source Software” and “Information Systems”.

Autonomous Transport

LRA Project Demonstrations
In the framework of the 2016 Driving Simulation Conference (DSC), the LRA project presented its research efforts on autonomous cars and augmented reality to two delegations on September 7th in SystemX premises. 

PST Project Launch
SystemX launched in July the PST (Transport Systems Performances) project, which will address two industrial fields: terrestrial (or rail) guided transport and aeronautics. Traditionally, these two sectors share a culture of system safety and operation, with life cycles of several decades.


Internet of Trust

Gilles Desoblin, new Internet of Trust Program Director
Gilles Desoblin was appointed Director of the Internet of Trust Program on July 18th. Through this research program, SystemX participates in the evolution of digital infrastructures and their improved agility, performance and security, by developing new trust based architectures and platforms for open experimentation. Smart Territories

Anthropolis Chair Colloquium
The Anthropolis Chair, initiated by SystemX and CentraleSupélec, is investigating user centered eco-innovations in the context of urban mobility systems and their interactions with other urban systems. The chair will organize its first colloquium on September 28th in Paris. This colloquium will set the stage for the upcoming three years of research and teaching on human centered urban mobility. The “IMM@SystemX” event took place on July 13th. The IMM project team presented its researches and results to academic and industrial partners.

The Systems Engineering Program becomes the Agile Industry Program!

End of the ROM Project
The ROM (Model Reduction and Multiphysics Optimization) project ended. Launched in July 2013, this project aimed to improve and automated design methods for complex systems in order to reduce costs and delays. Discover the project's highlights and results by browsing its interactive timeline.

Holiship Project Launch
The Holiship H2020 European Project proposal has just been launched. Holiship’s consortium is composed of 40 partners (shipbuilders, outfitters and European laboratories) who will work together to innovate in the ship design processes, materials and tools. Within the consortium, SystemX will work with DCNS to provide its expertise on engineering methods and tools for systems definition, in coordination with the ISC project.

Taiwanese Delegation
On July 6th, SystemX welcomed a Taiwanese delegation from the Smart Network System Institute, Institute for Information Industry (SNSI/III). Makhlouf Hadji (research engineer) presented them SystemX and how it operates. They also exchanged views on common research theme areas in order to possibly initiate collaborative projects.

IRT Ecosystem

A European Award for the b<>com Datacenter
B<>com was awarded the prize for the best participant datacenter in 2015 in the "New Datacenter" category by the experts of the European program, the Code of Conduct for Data Centers Energy Efficiency.

IRT Jules Verne Acquires a New Equipment for Composite Proccesses
In July, IRT Jules Verne acquired a high-capacity injecting means. The new equipment, set up on the Composites Technocampus and built by the PCMI SME, allows the injection of liquid resins for the manufacture of complex composite parts. Find out more
