Mark your calendars!
MBA Conclave Curriculum & Teaching Conference
October 16-19, 2020
Grand Hyatt - Downtown Denver, CO

“Conclave is a great conference geared toward marketing and business teachers. It was well organized and is definitely worth the time and money spent to go. I can’t wait to implement some of what I learned in my classroom.”

Don’t Miss This Opportunity

In 2028, 34% of all jobs will be in the areas of business, marketing, finance, and sales. That is higher than any other career area. The intent of the Perkins V Local Needs Assessment is to align CTE offerings with future careers. This is a real opportunity to make sure your school offers the business and marketing education programs needed to prepare students for these careers.

A few points to consider:

  1. "If you aren't at the table, you're on the menu." —Michael Enzi. Are you involved in your district or state Perkins V Local Needs Assessment? It is imperative to stay informed to be certain that business and marketing education are represented in these conversations.
  2. Business, marketing, finance, and sales jobs are needed in every industry. Make sure it isn't overlooked that every business, every nonprofit, and every school needs employees to manage the finances, market the goods or services, manage the people, etc.
  3. Percentages don't always tell the whole story. While careers in jobs such as solar panel installation may be growing at a large percentage, a closer look at the actual number of employees needed is much, much lower than the needs for business managers, accountants, and other business-related jobs. More information on proving the need for business and marketing education at the national, state, and local level is available here.

ACTE’s CareerTech VISION 2019 was a terrific gathering of CTE administrators and educators. We shared resources and information at our exhibit and in sessions on ethics education, project management, digital badging, using data for Perkins Local Needs Assessment, and lessons learned about 21st century learners through the High School of Business™ program. Have you downloaded the FREE ethics and project management resources yet? Thanks again to Daniels Fund and PMIEF for funding these materials.
