Thank You, Teachers!

We are thankful for teachers like you who go above and beyond to make sure students continue their learning—no matter what. Thank you for making a difference in students’ lives—not just during these unprecedented times, but every day! It’s our pleasure to serve you by providing support and resources.

We encourage you to take part in Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8, to continue in celebrating fellow teachers’ hard work. Follow along on Facebook and Twitter as we share ways to participate.

Resources for New Content Delivery and Supplemental Learning

Some states/districts are moving forward with learning new content, while others are only allowing supplemental learning. Here are resources for both:

  • New content: Lesson modules (LAPs) are flexible in terms of both delivery and content organization.
    • Delivery flexibility: (a) Use within the MBA Learning Center LMS, (b) upload to another LMS, (c) email PDFs to students, or (d) print PDFs for hard-copy packets.
    • Content flexibility: (a) Narrative is ready to use, (b) Gray Zone ethical dilemma works for live Zoom discussions or posting to discussion boards, (c) each has several activities teachers can pick to fit their remote learning situation, and (d) test items are provided.
  • Supplemental learning: 21st century skills can be reinforced using the LAP modules available at no cost through the Daniels Fund. These are perfect for use across the entire school as well.

ExecNet: Ask Your Business Partners To Join

MBA Research uses a multi-pronged research strategy to ensure standards and the resources developed to support them are always forward thinking. The Executive Advisory Network (ExecNet) is one piece of that. Each month, business professionals from across the U.S. complete an online survey about skills in their workplace. This is an opportunity for your advisory council to make a difference at the national level. Learn more or invite business professionals in your area to join at MBAExecnet.org.

Ready-To-Use Classroom Resource

Use The Gray Zone ethical dilemmas to introduce your students to problems and situations that don’t have one specific right or wrong answer. This week’s Gray Zone topic: Positive Attitude.

This Gray Zone comes from the Opt for Optimism lesson module (LAP) and aligns to performance indicator EI:019 Exhibit a positive attitude.

Learning Center LMS

Now is the perfect time to try out the Learning Center (Canvas LMS) calendar feature. The calendar allows you to keep track of everything you need to do for all of your courses. You can view the calendar by day, week, month, or agenda. Color-coding is used to differentiate personal, course, and group calendars. Click here for more details on using the calendar as an instructor.

For an in-depth look at all the features the Learning Center has to offer, watch this video.
