GIVING THANKS

For you: Our faithful readers and commenters. You make Frankly, My Dear... better. You're the reason we do what we do. At Frankly, My Dear... we strive to make each day filled with Faith, Family, Food, and Fun. It's our blessing to share our world with you. Thank you.

For us: This is our favorite time of year, when the weather cools and sweaters are cozy. When it's okay to dream of warm cider and cold nights. It just makes us warm and fuzzy all over, and glad to be together to share it.

For the world: This is the peaceful season, before the mad rush of Christmas and Holiday Cheer. This is when people tend to slow down, catch their breath, relax, and enjoy what's around them.

For things yet to come: Frankly, My Dear... and New Inklings Press are growing. We love hearing from you and seeing what's going on in your world.

Too much Turkey?

FEATURED RECIPE:

"Leftover Turkey" Soup

2 large garlic cloves
4 cans (14.5 oz. each) vegetable broth
1 lb. uncooked penne pasta
1 medium onion, diced
2 medium carrots, peeled and diced
2 celery stalks, diced
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Approx. 1 lb. turkey meat

Press garlic into 8-quart stockpot and saute on medium until lightly golden. Keep stirring so it doesn't scorch. Remove from heat.
Add broth. Return to heat, increase temperature to medium-high. Cover and bring to a boil.
Stir in pasta. If desired, add water or more broth. Cover and simmer 8-10 minutes or until pasta is almost cooked but still firm (al dente), stirring occasionally.
Add remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to medium. Cover and simmer additional 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
Serve immediately.

If desired, top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and fresh snipped basil.
