Everyone will be pleased to see the end of the working week. Auckland General Practicesswabbed over 10,000 people yesterday and combined with the Community Testing Centres, it totalled 17,889 swabs, which is 1,000 less than the day before. Positive COVID-19 cases increased by 78 in the last 24 hours, and as you will be aware, the PMannounced today that Auckland and Northland have at least two more weeks of Level four lockdown.
Restricted Swabbing Sites
We have had reports that a number of these sites are not asking essential workers for their introductory letter from employers or the PHO to permit a swab to be taken. We recommend that staff (and this includes, all Practice staff) who are close contacts and have been instructed to go to a Restricted Swabbing Site take a copy of the letter with them. All swabs from these sites are considered a priority by the laboratory. Site Locations can be found here
