Dear JFF Fans,
This is a very exciting year for us as we take the 17th Japanese Film Festival to a national stage!
From this year, the festival expands to encompass Brisbane, Perth and Canberra, along with Sydney and Melbourne, a total of five major cities around Australia.
We’ve been listening to your feedback for a stronger line-up in your city, and now we’re thrilled to be able to do just that! In each city, ten of the latest feature films and five classics will be screened, with an even greater extended program in the two flagship cities of Sydney and Melbourne.
Notice anything different? As we move nationally, we’ve created a new origami themed logo and tag line ‘Watch Japan Unfold’ which we are very proud of. We believe through its design and colour, it strongly represents who we are – red for Japan’s identity & history, orange for a youthful, energetic Japan, and blue (aizome) signifying traditional Japanese arts.
We’ll be back in touch next month with the program line-up and more festival details. Until then, please keep in touch through our social media channels and make sure you start spreading the festival cheer – especially to your friends and family interstate!
I look forward to seeing you at the festival soon.
Lock it in your diaries now!
