Special Guests in Sydney
A big welcome to Masayuki Suo (Pictured right: Director, Sumo Do, Sumo Don't; Shall We Dance?) and Mone Kamishiraishi (Actress) at Sydney's afternoon screening of Lady Maiko!
Suo is a no stranger to JFF having made his first debut on Australian soil two years ago for the première screening of medical drama, A Terminal Trust (JFF 2012).
If you missed him the first time, here's your chance to get up close and personal again, this time for a film he's dreamed of making for 20 years, that has finally come to fruition!
And of course, the young lady who Suo selected from over 800 applicants to fulfil his dream film is newcomer Kamishiraishi (pictured left), who Suo describes as a 'diamond in the rough'. This is Kamishiraishi's first role as lead actress, and at only 16, she seems to have delivered her character flawlessly. Adelaide's Indaily has described her as, "brilliantly engaging."
Catch them both on:
Sunday 16 November at 16:00
Event Cinemas, George Street Sydney
A Q&A will follow directly after the screening.
