This is one for the books, girls and guys!
For once, when I say I am going to keep it short, I am ACTUALLY going to keep it short :)
I just have one teeny tiny thing to share with you: Mary's Memory.
This hexagon was designed for my recent (ish) cruise with Crafty Adventures. I am sharing it on my blog in three parts (two of which are already available). Once I have shared it, I will tell you how I grew it even bigger by adding a modified Ubuntu border to it.
You can find all the information HERE:
I will be releasing Part 3 this Thursday to celebrate turning a glorious 38. 38 is a very special number in our household. Actually, it is Mr LAWIM's lucky number (all the way back from his school days and...erm...his interesting friends), but we have all sort of adopted it. In fact, when I was pregnant with Boy 1, I teased that I would call him Drie-Ag (Three-eight in English).
This is not as far-fetched as it seems. My own name (Dedri) is a homophone/phonetical equivalent of D-three in Afrikaans, and sometimes, when I forget myself, I still sign D3 instead of Dedri. Just a little useless FYI.
Anyway, I was working with the sweetest Irish girl at the time, and when she heard me say Drie-Ag, she told me that it sounded like the Irish word for magic: draíocht. (You can find the pronunciation HERE - Connacht dialect).
Since that day, more than a decade ago, the number 38 has carried even more meaning for me. So here is to looking forward to a magical year and plenty of time spent chatting to (and designing for) you.
Have a fabulous week x
Ps. Don't forget to have a look at Jeanette at Sunset if you haven't already done so.
Pps. If any of you are going to Bournemouth this weekend for the crochet weekend with Jane Crowfoot and Sarah Hazell, please let me know so that I can keep an eye out for you.
