This weekend we have our shoes on speeding around the kitchen making St Nicholas Day recipes from around the world plus "POST" options as well for those maintaining the fast. We are making for you: an Italian Escarole and bean soup, a Slovakian sweet bread much like "cozonac" and the famous Dutch "kruidnoten" which are little gingerbread round cookies which we shall sprinkle over some Post friendly coconut and melon ice cream. Ive also made some mulled bishop's wine or "vin fiert" which I'm sure this benevolent old saint would approve of!
