This Saturday I felt like doing a few slightly more unusual things with pumpkin. Its an absolutely amazing nutrition powerhouse lending itself to savoury and sweet recipes alike.
I thought that instead of the very sweet cinnamon pumpkin pie, we would do something a bit different with lemongrass and coconut sweetened with a touch of agave. This pie is great for those with a lactose intolerance. The pastry too is an olive oil affair and I will use buckwheat for a nutty flavour that should work well.
The pumpkin ravioli are just pure Italian Classic. For those of you who cant make it Ive blogged the recipe here. They are not as intimidating as they sound nor is fresh egg pasta although you may not need to do weights at the gym for a while after kneading the pasta by hand.

Finally Ive been making this really wonderfully orange coloured bread that has a pretty big helping of pumpkin puree in it with coriander seeds and black pepper too. It begs to be dipped into things or slathered with butter or good olive oil.
