Having always loved the food of the Middle East and having lived in Turkey Yotam Ottolenghi’s cooking is something that jibes with me and it was a treat to pore over his book “Jerusalem” again this week and take inspiration. I’ve been cooking up a few things and adding to my supply of confit/preserved lemons and we’ve got a great brunch special – “shakshuka” which is kind of like a Middle Eastern huevos rancheros, a spicy sauce and eggs cooked in it served with very thick yoghurt and some fresh bread. A fine breakfast indeed.

At a Glance
I am sorry to be a little behind on this and a few other things but its been another week of dental troubles and the much feared “extractie” is scheduled next week which I hope will end it and also end the non drinking spell due to so many antibiotics!
