Grey weather means hot soups and warm pies washed down with beer or a smooth red.  Its "Post" time so that means really doing great things with lovely Autumn vegetables. I cant get enough of the pumpkin hummus so more of that again. I love how sweet parsnips combine with spicy curry flavours so I made a curried parsnip soup and yes I added a bit of pumpkin puree to it. That's a "Post" soup too.  Dipping the cheese and parsley scones in it is brilliant.

Having lived in Turkey I developed a predilection for all forms of small meat balls or "kofte" but this Vegan version made with zuchinni and chick peas is just fabulous. The peanut & coconut sauce is like a Middle Eastern satay. 

And now for the 'Pie Alert" and I know one of you cries "battle stations" upon hearing that!  Its Steak & Guinness this week - just in case you need an iron fix.  Its Roast beef of course on Sunday  and  for the pud this week I was thinking about pears again.  I love ginger in any shape way and form so I thought that a Pear, ginger and chocolate bread and butter pudding (served with custard) would be nice.
