GCE is pleased to announce the inauguration of our University Scholarship Program. GCE´s donors have sponsored 19 students for their studies past graduation at Grade 10. We have two students that excelled in ¨College¨ and are now University bound. Allow us to introduce them.
2016/17 University Scholarship Recipients
Bhagabati Kapri was Baladevi Secondary School´s #2 student in 2014. She is now attending Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu thanks to the sponsorship of longtime GCE supporters Eric & Gill Schwarz.
Bhagabati is studying management with an aim to go into business.
In 2014, Saraswati Bhujel received one of four ¨Local¨scholarships to Tripura Sundari Higher Secondary School, about 1.5 hours walk from her home. A just-above-average student at Baladevi, she really turned it on in Grade 11, finishing near the top of the class.
Matt Martin, who only recently learned of GCE´s work in Nepal, is sponsoring Saraswaiti, also attending Tribhuvan Univesity. She will study Humanaties & English with an eye to being a teacher.
