Hi, <<First Name>>
It’s been about a week since we last checked in. Does your world look any different? OK, probably a lot of things in your life are the same as they were before. But if you told someone about signing the pledge, took a first step or two, and connected with God, you probably saw Him start to shake things up!
So, what comes next?
Connect with God. It’s hard to do God’s will if you’re not sure what that is. Spending time listening - in prayer and reading scripture - is important. This week, begin asking God what it means to give your whole life to Him, including your future.
We might ask to see God's whole blueprint for our future, but He doesn't usually reveal that much at a time. It makes more sense to start by thinking and asking about the next year or so. Reflect on Jeremiah 29, (especially verse 11) and Ephesians 2:10, and consider God’s plans for you in the coming months.
Learn to discern. What we’re really talking about here is discernment. If this is new to you, Keith Davy offers some great insight on how to discern God’s direction in this video. You can also download this great article from Rick James.
Another great option: The 210 Project is a book and an interactive online process that will help you discern your best Kingdom contributions and then empower you to fulfill those.
You can download the free Kindle version for Free and access their unique online lifelong personal assessment and planning tool for just $20 at 210project.com/cru.
Connect with a coach. There are probably some people you know who have committed to discerning what kind of work God has planned for them. Cru student leaders or Cru staff and volunteers, pastors and other church leaders have loads of wisdom and insight. Get together with them to hear what they’ve done and how they’ve learned to surrender their lives.
Watch for your next email in about a week. You can also find some Bible studies and articles about discernment pledge.cruoncampus.org. Feel free to explore and share!
We'd love to pray for you specifically. Let us know what you're celebrating and how we can support you.
