Hi, <<First Name>>
We hope that your conference experience was an amazing start to 2014. It will be fun to see how that energy and passion for God's mission is expressed when everyone gets back to campus!
The pledge you signed was designed to help you do just that - live out your passion for and commitment to Jesus in your day to day life, wherever God leads you.
Those words: "Lord Jesus, I surrender to you" are a big deal. Especially if we take seriously the call on our whole lives – including all the days to come. We just aren’t used to giving up control of where we go, what we do, what we say and what we give away.
When you first came to faith in Christ, your heart was transformed, your sins were forgiven and your journey as a follower began. This pledge reinforces your commitment to be the person God created you to be and the witness that Christ calls each of us to be.
Remember: The Spirit of God gives us the strength we need to make ourselves available to the work He has for us. When we love God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength, He is faithful to guide us.
And Listen. God will speak to you, through scripture, wise counsel. Keep your heart and mind open to His leading. You don’t have to figure it out all at once. Or all alone. Talk to a mentor; find a group of others who are passionate about living on mission and encourage one another.
There are a million ways God can use you: teaching, singing, building bridges, making art, baking... we could go on. Here are a few things to consider while you and God talk.
- GO Maybe God has plans for your summer or the next year. Consider our Summer Opportunities at Santa Monica, CA, Ocean City, NJ, the SoCal Summer Project in Irvine, CA and the 2 week long San Diego Express. Or you may want to explore our One-Year STINT partnership teams.
- DO What's something new you can do this week? Show love for a neighbor, help a friend, care for the environment, start a prayer journal.
- GIVE Consider making an ongoing commitment to our efforts to cover the expense of providing 100,000 meals for the free lunch programs for needy families and to help launch and build movements both domestically and in our international partnership.
You'll be getting another email in about a week. Meanwhile, we've gathered some of our favorite resources for you to explore and share at Pledge.CruOnCampus.org.
- SAY Is there someone you've wanted to talk to about God? Try asking some questions that might lead to a spiritual conversation
We’re praying for you!
