Kiev, Ukraine!
July 3-5 I conducted and exhibited The I Love You Project in Kiev, Ukraine at 8 Bit Gallery, ignoring the US State Department's travel warning. I also recorded participants outdoors at Independence Square, known as the Maidan, where protesters were killed and the area covered in flames earlier this year. 8 Bit Gallery is actually a former bunker, and I called the recording room our "Love Interrogation Room". I exhibited over 300 photos of past participants and screened videos in multiple rooms. The session on the Maidan, conducted on July 4 (our USA Independence Day) was a sobering experience. I thank the people of Kiev for the friendship they showed and the stories they shared. Berlin, Germany!
The I Love You Project was conducted and exhibited again in Berlin. This time "Where Is Jesus" hosted us in Kreuzberg, a diverse and artistic community where I videotaped, photographed, and recorded participants. The exhibition was on display from June 28 - July 12 and featured past participant photos and videos from other German cities, and Barcelona. It was nice reconnecting with some of the participants, and meeting new collaborators. For those who have been waiting for the Berlin video to be completed, we need funding! The soundtrack is complete, but we need to pay a the video editor to work on the video which will include the 120 participants from last year.

Australia!
The I Love You Project: Hessen will be part of "My Cities, Your Identities" International video-art and photography festival July 18 - 24. International ArtExpo, in collaboration with BigCi - Bilpin International Ground for Creative Initiatives, will host the festival at BigCi - Bilpin on the edge of Wollemi National Park, Australia, from the July 18-24. The opening reception will be on July 19th from 2PM to 4PM. If you know people in Australia, please invite them. I unfortunately won't be able to attend the screenings.
