"The challenges we face are far too big to be solved by a few chosen people. It’s all of our jobs to work for each other now. To believe in our own efficacy to help our communities. Not to solve the problems of the world, but to help the people around us in any and every way we can. That feels right to me."
 - Jeb Dickerson

The NY Times published an interesting article about community called My Neighbor, My Pandemic Pal. It's a great read and makes us even more grateful for our community and how we have weathered the storms of the past two yearsPDF of Article

Business Spotlight - Wild Birds Unlimited
Q&A with the Store Manager of Wild Birds Unlimited, Denise Pyatt

How long has Wild Birds Unlimited been in Warson Woods?
The store has been in Warson Woods for more than 20 years. The current owners - Amy Legg and Kellie Watts - bought the store in 2017 and really made it shine. What services do you provide at the store that people might not be aware of?
We offer a service called Feederscaping. We go out to the customers' homes and consult with them on the best places to set up their bird feeding stations including bird baths. We can also install a pole system, feeders and baths all for a small fee. We can also help identify birds in their area. What is your favorite bird?
The Missouri State bird - The Eastern Bluebird
What is your favorite product in the store?
Bark Butter - it was created by the founder of Wild Birds Unlimited, Jim Carpenter. It comes in many different forms including a spreadable one that you can put right on a tree. Over 150 species of birds have been shown to be attracted to it. Your staff is so kind and wonderful. We are grateful to have you in the
neighborhood. How do you create a culture of excellence for your employees?

I like to always thank them for the wonderful job they do. That may include special treats or a small gift card. The staff here really loves nature and helping the declining numbers of songbirds by sharing their knowledge with our customers. We really are different than other retailers because we want to help our customers to get excited about this wonderful hobby through our knowledge and events that we offer throughout the year. What is something you like about Warson Woods?
Warson Woods is such a great community that feels like a small town. We know most of our customers by name and they really like to support small businesses in the area. It is a beautiful and safe area, and we feel very grateful to be a part of it!
