Happy Spring!

Taking a stroll through Warson Woods in the springtime, you might think you inadvertently took a detour into a botanical garden. The color explosion from the blanket of Dogwoods, Azaleas and Lillac bushes enlivened by a soundtrack of song birds creates quite the sensory treat. This year the awakening of spring brings with it more than a renewal of nature, but of resuming the normal rituals of Springtime. As the flowers emerge from their winter hibernation so do we, with a newfound appreciation for another beautiful day in the neighborhood.

City Government News
At the April meeting, the board of Alderpeople voted to form an independent committee of residents to evaluate the recent proposal to partner with Glendale for police services. The board also voted to have legislation prepared to enable a community-wide non-binding vote on this proposal. Please stay tuned for more information as it is available! The next Board meeting is May 18th (info).
Food Truck
We are exploring the idea of hosting a food truck at Royal Oak Park before our board meeting on the evening of Tuesday, May 18. More information to come!

Spring Gardening Tips

Let's talk soil!

Because your garden soil is likely dried out and packed after winter, it's time to add moisture. Add organic material like compost or manure. You might need to test the soil to see what nutrients it needs, so you give it the right mixture. You might also need to add more fertilizer to increase the health of the soil and increase the life of your plants.

Coming Soon - Neighborhood Directory!

From the Archives
As much as we like to fancy ourselves pioneers in the world of neighborhood communication, the Warson Woods newsletter has been around for quite some time, albeit in fits and starts. Here's an edition from June of 1968 - when the annual city budget was around $130,000 and you could get a private tennis lesson for the bargain price of $2.50!
We are totally digging the groovy wallpaper in the board room photo!
Art Piece of the Month

Pet of the Month
Look at that face! Meet Stanely Dohrman-Weiler from Renderer Drive. He was named Stanley becuase his gotcha day when he joined our family was June 15, 2019, the day that the St. Louis Blues won a Stanley Cup victory. Stanley loves to play fetch and get ear scratches!
