Gratitudes

I'd like to make a proposal. I normally follow the lectionary, that is the standard verses from the New and Old Testament for every week. It spans a three-year period. We're coming up on Advent, and I'm curious to know if there's something that you're curious about in the Bible. If there are certain subjects or certain verses that you've always wanted to know more about, I'm going to suggest that we use those wonderful boxes that Harry made us for collection for one more thing. If you do have a curiosity, or perhaps something that bothers you about the Bible, write it down and put it in an envelope labeled with my name, put it in the box at the end of the service. You can sign it or not, up to you.

I'm going to guess that I will get some very interesting requests or questions. Also, if you'd like to hear a sermon series, that might be an interesting suggestion too. Some suggestions would be the Prophets, Old Testament stories, Atonement Theology, or maybe prayer. I think it will make me a better pastor if I get to hear and respond to what makes you tilt your head to the side, it's a great way to enter into deeper and richer dialogues.

Love, Denise

WELCOME
We, the members of the West Suffield Congregational Church, are called by God to live as one community. We strive to love, as we are loved by God, both freely and unconditionally. We recognize, celebrate, and affirm that all persons are individuals of sacred worth. Therefore, we intentionally welcome all God’s children regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, ethnicity, marital status, physical or mental ability, political stance, or theological perspective. Each person is important to God and each person’s abilities and gifts are called forth to help build and strengthen the work of Gods’ Kingdom here, in our community and around the world. We strive with the help of the Holy Spirit to become more like Jesus in our love and support for one another, in order to oppose and overcome any injustice, oppression, and prejudice that continues in our society, our communities, and ourselves.
