I've been reading poetry lately, Ann Weems is one of my favorites; this is The Decree, I hope you find it meaningful. Love, Denise

The Decree

And in these days a decree goes out to all the world,
For these are taxing times.
We are all called again to go to Bethlehem,
No matter the state of our health nor the world.
We come, obedient and faithful,
For we have heard the message,
We have dreamed the dream
That God will come to dwell among us.
We come, expectant with joy,
Pregnant with anticipation,
For God for God has done great things for us.
We come searching for a sign;
Bearing our gifts, we come,
We come, called from the silent hillsides of our hearts,
startled and frightened by the magnitude of the light’
We huddle together towards Bethlehem.
We come, one by one,
Dancing into the promise.

HAPPY 2023!
The Annual Meeting will be held on January 29th after church service up in the sanctuary. 
Please Note: All reports for the Annual Meeting must be into the office no later than Sunday, January 15th.

We will collect
hats, gloves and socks for
Safe Harbor Warming Center in Enfield. 
Any monetary donations will help purchase snacks and coffee items for them.

CROSSROADS FOOD PANTRY
We are collecting bottles of maple syrup (any brand) for the January Food Pantry... Please bring your donations in by January 8th.

The WSCC prides itself on helping those who struggle with food insecurities each month. We are 100% Volunteer run and rely on donations from our Community to operate.

Over the last 6 months due to supply chain issues, it has become increasingly difficult for Foodshare to find nutritious food to offer for distribution. What this means for us is to open each month we have had to supplement our pantry with items that we must purchase.
Home heating costs and the price of groceries have soared. It is becoming increasingly difficult for us to meet our community’s needs. Please open your hearts and donate to Crossroads Food Pantry so we may continue to provide basic food items to our neighbor in need. 
Donations can be mailed to WSCC, P.O. Box 26, West Suffield, CT.  06093 or they can be done online at our website: www.westsuffielducc.org click on the Ministries tab and then click on Crossroads Food Pantry.
Church Council will meet on January 8th after worship.

ALTAR FLOWERS
There is a sign up sheet, hanging on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall, if you would like to volunteer to provide the Altar Flowers on a Sunday of your choice. Please indicate if they are to be in honor or in memory of a loved one.
