With the Christmas Season upon us, I need to send out a reminder. Churches are sometimes the target of scammers. Christian parishioners seek to do good over the holidays, and unfortunately that good will can be taken advantage of. It has become a common practice for Church emails to be hacked, and bogus messages get sent to unwary parishioners. It happened several times when I was in Marlborough, and in one instance, a member bought several hundred dollars in gift cards because she thought the Senior Pastor was asking.
I will NEVER send out a request for money or gift cards. This congregation is generous to a fault, and I want to make sure your good nature and generosity are not impinged upon. We will still collect gloves, socks, and hats for the warming center, but please, if you receive what looks like a personal email from me that asks you to buy something, ignore it.
You are all a blessing to me personally, I could not ask for more, much love, Denise
