On behalf of all of us at JYC, we want to wish our students a healthy and happy 2019! What a year it has been for us, and we hope that you are loving the new look and feel of our studio space. We will be celebrating 8 years of offering yoga to the North York Community, and truly appreciate each of you for sharing your practice with us.
As you start to plan out the year ahead, and map out what you would like to have manifested for yourself in 2019, we encourage everyone to enjoy the moment! Having our minds too much in the future and not enough in the present moment, gives us the feeling of life going by too quickly. One foot infront of the other, one step at time, and a reminder that all the answers you might be searching for are already within you.

We would like to formally welcome and introduce
our new studio Manager, Tanya!
Tanya is currently one of our YTT Instructors and we are excited to welcome her to the JYC team!
After several years working in the corporate industry, it was yoga and an active lifestyle that helped her find balance in life. She decided to change gears and turned to yoga as a way of helping others achieve the most in their lives.Her teaching style ranges from gentle hatha to vigorous power vinyasa yoga and including core classes that are pilates based. Her classes are taught with a focus on building a connection between a strong body and a calm mind.
She is also has a Bachelor of Arts specializing in Psychology and is certified as a Personal Trainer Specialist with CanFitPro, Canada’s leading and largest provider of education in the Canadian fitness industry.
“Yoga is a wonderful tool to assist people in opening their hearts, opening their minds, and opening their bodies to be all that they can be.”
Tanya's hours will vary to start,
but you will find her at the studio:
Monday's from 12:30 - 9:00pm
Thursday's from 11:30 - 8:00pm
Friday's from 11:00 - 3:00pm.
She will also be teaching Monday nights, so come out and try a yoga class with her!
Tanya is looking forward to meeting out incredible students and will be focused on Project Management, our Yoga Teacher training program and studio maintenaince.
We are excited to welcome her onboard out growing team!

as she made her way across Western Canada for Holiday.

There are many benefits for pregnant women through a regular yoga practice. Yoga allows women to take time to connect with their baby and their changing body. It allows space for the new mother to communicate and acknowledge this special and sacred time of connecting and being at one with the baby. In these classes, you will learn grounding and breathing techniques. This class will assist in releasing back pain or strain and will help increase flexibility and strength. Prenatal yoga helps in preparing for the birthing experience and aids in deconstructing negative relationships to pain by teaching expecting students to consciously relax and focus on the breath, providing useful tools for the birthing experience.
