Griswold Vigils to be Hosted Around the State

Griswold Vigils to Be Hosted Around the State!
Every year pro-lifers throughout Wisconsin mark the anniversary of the June 7, 1965 Griswold v. Connecticut U.S. Supreme Court decision with prayer vigils at local birth control centers. The landmark Griswold decision paved the way for abortion on demand in America by legalizing contraception and defining the so-called “right to privacy” upon which the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision was based.

At the same time, however, these vigils also serve as a public celebration of the family and the joy that is experienced in following God’s plan for love and life. Participate in a Griswold Vigil near you!

Milwaukee/Waukesha County – A Griswold vigil will be held in front of the West Allis Planned Parenthood at the corner of Hwy 100 and Lincoln Ave. on Saturday, June 4 from noon to 2:00 p.m. The vigil will be followed by a brief ice cream social. We will decry the contraceptive mentality, then gather to celebrate God’s gift of life. Signs will be provided.

Madison/Dane County – Pro-Life Wisconsin Dane County affiliate, Vigil for Life Madison will hold a Griswold vigil on Tuesday, June 7 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Planned Parenthood on Orin Road.

Indiana University to Sue State so It Can Continue Experimenting on Aborted Babies' Body Parts

(LifeSiteNews.com) Indiana University (IU) is seeking to legally block a state's law requiring that aborted children be buried or cremated, because it would prevent the public university from experimenting on aborted babies' organs and tissue.

The pro-life statute, which was passed by the Indiana legislature in the wake of shocking undercover videos from the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) and set to take effect on July 1, stops the grizzly practice of profiting from the sale of aborted babies by participation in such scientific experiments.

The pro-life Indiana law makes it a level-five felony to acquire, receive, sell, or transfer fetal tissue.  IU told the court the law would restrict experimenters’ academic freedom.

Illinois Passes Bill Forcing Every Doctor, Pharmacist and Pregnancy Center to Promote Abortion

(LifeNews.com) Illinois came one step closer to forcing its pro-life medical community to choose between violating state law and violating deeply held religious conscience Wednesday, as the state’s House approved Senate Bill 1564 and set the legislation on the governor’s desk.

The bill, which would introduce decisive changes to Illinois’ Health Care Right of Conscience Act, passed by a 61-54 margin and now awaits the signature of Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner. Originally put forward in the summer of 2015, the legislation would require pro-life medical providers, including 51 Illinois nonprofit pregnancy centers offering free services including ultrasound and STI testing, to take action the bill’s opponents say amounts to participating in an abortion.
