Happy Mother's Day

Did you see your mother yesterday?  Send her a card?  Say a prayer for her?

All of us here at Pro-Life Wisconsin realize that mothers truly are the cultural glue of our society. Mothers give us our very lives, teach us right from wrong, compassionately walk with us through life’s inevitable sufferings, and so much more.  That’s why abortion is so destructive and devastating to the family and society at large.  It robs mothers of living out a relationship of love with their children.  This relationship of mother and child is one of the most beautiful gifts God grants to us.  Abortion discards this gift along with the human life of the unborn child.

So, a huge THANK YOU to all you mothers who witness to the beauty of the Gospel of Life.  We realize it’s often the more difficult road.  To love and serve your family can sometimes be monotonous, exhausting, and challenging.  But motherhood also brings a unique and irreplaceable joy, an opportunity to love, a foretaste of heaven.

Many blessings to all mothers!  We ask you to pray with us for all mothers, but especially for those mothers who are currently contemplating the rejection of their motherhood and abortion for their unborn child.  May God’s grace and our loving outreach help them to embrace the gift of their child!

Missouri House Passes Personhood Amendment Protecting Life from Conception

(LifeSiteNews.com) Missouri’s House of Representatives approved a constitutional amendment Thursday protecting the right to life of the state’s unborn children “at every stage of biological development.” The personhood bill passed 112-36, and now moves to the state Senate where it needs committee approval and a final vote in the full Senate to pass.

The personhood amendment holds “that all persons, including unborn human children at every stage of biological development, have a natural right to life …” and that “this state recognizes the right to life of every unborn human child at every stage of biological development and shall protect such life from deprivation by the state or private action to the extent permitted by the federal constitution.”

The bill’s sponsor, Republican Mike Moon, compared the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1857 Dred Scott decision finding that blacks could not become U.S. citizens with its 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling legalizing abortion, saying that the court got it wrong in both decisions.

Congress Subpoenas StemExpress Records to Find Out How it Determines Price for Aborted Babies' Organs

(LifeSiteNews.com) The House Select Panel on Infant Lives issued subpoenas on Thursday to investigate whether StemExpress has violated federal law by purchasing aborted babies' organs and tissue.

“In light of the advice we received from witnesses at our hearing last month, these subpoenas are necessary in order for the Select Investigative Panel to complete a full review of StemExpress’ accounting records,” Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, who chairs the panel, said. “Documents uncovered by our investigation so far point to the very troubling possibility that StemExpress may have violated federal law by profiting from the sale of baby body parts.”

Investigators say Planned Parenthood incurs no expenses and that StemExpress pays per organ in order to keep its promise that partnering with it will bring abortion providers a new “revenue stream.”
