Voting pro-life means forming your conscience.

Election countdown begins

After thirteen years and six election cycles working for Pro-Life Wisconsin, I thought I had seen it all.

2016 would present yet another contentious but normal election year. How wrong I was.

Donald Trump’s injection into the 2016 election has turned things upside down, splitting the Republican Party and the conservative and pro-life movements.

What to do with this bombastic, morally flawed candidate who has nevertheless deeply tapped into the discontent of regular Americans yearning for someone to listen to their concerns and turn an overbearing and bumbling federal government into one that effectively serves them?

What to do indeed!

From a pro-life perspective, there is a marked contrast between the Republican and Democratic presidential nominees.

Pro-Life News

BIRTH CONTROL:  A new study has found that the use of hormonal birth control may be linked to a significantly higher risk of depressionPLW: Here's another reason to not use contraception, as if you needed one.

ABORTION KILLS: Dehumanization of the unborn (is the same as) the despicable dehumanization of slaves in America and the slaughter of dehumanized Jews during the Holocaust. PLW: Changing the language makes use realize what we're really talking about - killing humans because they're inconvenient.

TRUMP: "My position has not changed — like Ronald Reagan, I am pro-life with exceptions." PLW: Exceptions mean it's OK to kill some babies. PLW knows that's discrimination.

POLLS: An 80 percent majority of Americans believe abortions should at least be limited to the first trimester. PLW: We are working for the day when abortion, at any stage of development, is unthinkable.

RELIGION: Denver Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila has published an article in his diocesan newspaper, urging Catholics to remember that no issue should be more important to them than the question of life and death for the unborn. PLW: More bishops, priests and pastors need to emphasize the “non-negotiable” issues when it comes to voting, the right to life being the most important.

FREE SPEECH: A high school student in Nebraska is challenging her school’s decision not to sponsor the pro-life club she started, saying the school’s move was an unconstitutional discrimination. PLW: As government institutions increasingly marginalize people of faith and life, we must defend our constitutional rights in the courts.

ABORTION: Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, gets “excited” when she hears about how and why women chose to get abortions. PLW: Despite Cecile Richard’s deepest desire for abortion to come out of the shadows and be normalized, mothers and fathers killing their preborn sons and daughters will remain a grossly unnatural and inhuman practice.

CLINTON: Pro-abortion Hillary Clinton, who voted against the gruesome Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003, surrounds herself with those who want to expand abortion. PLW: If elected president, Hillary Clinton will promote legislation creating a “fundamental right” to abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, thus overturning all federal and state regulations on the abortion industry by making abortion a fully funded public entitlement.
