Students try out their skills during National Skills Trades and Technology Week.
Celebrate skilled trades
across Canada this week!
There will be everything from pizza parties to Lego robotics and a model wind turbine competition during National Skilled Trades and Technology Week. The official kick-off for the Canada-wide event is today in Manitoba at Red River College. (To find activities in your area, click here.)
What is National Skilled Trades and Technology Week?
The goal of NSTTW is to give young people across the country a “hands-on” introduction to skilled trades and technology careers.
Skilled trades and technology careers are an excellent career path for many young Canadians, but many Canadians don't know what's involved. This week of events is dedicated to raise awareness and offer some fun activities at the same time.
Canadian Skills Competitions
The next step (after this week) is to fine-tune your skills to get ready for the provincial competitions hosted by Skills Canada next year. Winners at the provincial level will go on to compete in the National Skills Competition at the end of May at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg.
