Get started on the road to journeywoman

If you are a woman living in Alberta and you have have been considering a career in construction or oil and gas, here's a great opportunity. But the deadline to apply is looming!

'Journeywoman START' ready to roll out

April 4, 2016 is the deadline to register for the province of Alberta approved Journeywoman START program. The actual session will run from May 30th  to Sept. 23rd.

The curriculum

The curriculum involves:  two weeks of Health and Safety Courses, eight weeks of Skill Training, two weeks of Workplace Culture, four weeks of schooling and two weeks of work experience.

There will also be follow up support in the program in the form of job searches and apprenticeships.

The Journeywoman START program is an approved Integrated Training Program with the Province of Alberta. The program is designed to help women prepare for and succeed in construction, and oil and gas jobs. You will write the Level B trade entrance exam (formerly Level 5) while in the program.
