A helpful guide to assist you in locating services and organizations within B.C.

For Aboriginal residents of British Columbia who want to have an idea of what services and organizations are available and where, here's help...

The B.C. government has compiled the very useful Guide to Aboriginal Organizations and Services. It lists many Aboriginal community-based services and organizations that can work with you on education, employment, business development and other goals. Most are not-for-profit and Aboriginal operated.

Inside the Guide

In the guide, you will find listings of over 1,100 Aboriginal, First Nations and Métis organizations and services for:

  • Culture and Languages
  • Business and Economic Development
  • Child and Family Services
  • Communications
  • Education
  • Employment
  • Friendship Centres
  • Health and Healing
  • Housing
  • Legal
  • Women and Youth

At the end of the guide, it also includes a very cool First Peoples Language map of B.C.

A few things to note:

  • Table of Contents: Headings are links within the document. Click on one to take you to the information you want to view.
  • Search: On your keyboard select "ctrl + f" to search for keywords within the listings.
  • Printing: Full guide is 134 pages. Download PDF onto your computer, open and select page you want printed in print dialogue box before printing. Make sure page size is set to "Letter".
