Dundee Carers Centre - Coming soon to a community near you!

Carer Support staff and volunteers will be out and about in local communities in the next few months, getting to know carers, their families and communities to find out how we can best work with you to ensure that all the carers in Dundee are identified and receive the support they need, when they need it. whether that be in work life, family life, community life or balance these aspects of life with a caring role.

We can’t do this alone, and in Strathmartine & Coldside we worked alongside local carers and community members to plan and develop the approach and developed new opportunities for carers in those communities alongside schools, churches, community centres, health & social care teams and other third sector agencies.

If you are a carer in Dundee and you would like to get involved with us in your community we’d love to hear from you – please get in touch on 01382 200422 and ask for Laura or Indigo or email

“Through working with the Carers Centre I have a better understanding of who carers are and that many people who are carers and would be entitled to support, financial or otherwise, do not consider themselves to be carers.” (Community Worker)
“I feel my knowledge and understanding has increased through working in partnership with the Carers Centre, as well as meeting and working with carers. As a result, am much more confident in identifying and supporting carers.” (Keep Well Team)

I would encourage people to take advantage of the final weeks of the consultation and let us know their thoughts about our plans.

You can share your views by taking part in a short survey.

Feedback received on the plans so far is now being shared on NHS Tayside’s social media sites and on the dedicated Shaping Orthopaedic Services webpage at People can also call 0800 7836110 or email for further information.
