Humber LEP Newsletter - March 2017

In this month’s newsletter, the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) calls for businesses in the Humber to help bolster the region’s case as the Government develops a new industry strategy for the country.

Elsewhere, the Humber LEP announces its support of the Business Day event, at Bridlington Spa in June and the work of the Springboard programme is showcased at a celebration event, with the Humber’s four local authorities.


Springboard Programme & Skills Pledge Celebration Event

Together with the Humber’s four localities, the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is hosting an event to showcase the work of the Springboard programme, celebrating its inception two years ago.

The event will take place on Thursday 23rd March at Willerby Manor, Willerby and will highlight the successes of the programme, including the many young people who have benefitted from it.

Call for Projects – European Structural and Investment Funds

Organisations are invited to apply for funding from European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) by responding to a number of Calls for projects that will provide support to businesses across the Humber.

There are two calls for projects that have been launched by the Department for Communities and Local Government that can benefit from funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).  The Calls for projects are now open until 13 May for the following activities:

LEP calls for businesses to help shape Government’s industrial strategy

The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is asking businesses to help it make the region’s case as the Government develops a new Industrial Strategy for the country.

The Government is consulting on what should be in the new Industrial Strategy, covering areas such as infrastructure, skills and investment.  The LEP wants to ensure that the new strategy works for the Humber, and is working with local authorities, business membership organisations and individual businesses to make the case for the region’s interests.

A63 Garrison Road in Hull to benefit from £6.3m scheme

The Department for Transport has announced today that the A63 Garrison Road in Hull will be one of the schemes to benefit from new funding for improving congested junctions.

The £6.3m scheme will save more than half a million hours of delays in the first year alone.

Humber LEP sponsor The Business Day event

The Humber LEP is supporting a new event which will act as a fitting finale for this year’s Humber Business Week.  The Business Day will feature high-profile speakers and networking opportunities at Bridlington Spa on Friday 9th June.

The LEP is one of the main sponsors for the event, alongside East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Hull City Council, the University of Hull, KCOM, Welcome to Yorkshire and the Sewell Group.
