The latest newsletter from the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) celebrates the success of the Parliamentary Reception at Westminster, in partnership with Bondholders, Team Humber Marine Alliance (THMA) and the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce.
The Humber LEP also attended the Northern Powerhouse Annual Conference and Exhibition, 2017 in Manchester – to promote the Humber and its growing reputation as the UK’s ‘Energy Estuary’.
Additionally, the Humber LEP is also seeking additional private sector representation to join its Board.
The British Business Bank together with the Local Enterprise Partnerships is holding a series of regional briefing events to tell local partners about the new £400m Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF) and how to access it.
An event will take place in each of the 10 Local Enterprise Partnership areas within the NPIF region between the 01 and 17 March 2017, with the first event taking place on 1st March at the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull.

The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is seeking additional private sector members to join its Board.
The LEP, a Government-backed partnership between business, local authorities and education, leads efforts to grow the Humber economy.
Its work includes securing investment in infrastructure projects (such as last month’s announcement of a further £27.9m Growth Deal funding), encouraging the upskilling of the region’s workforce and putting in place measures to support business growth.

The Humber LEP will be flying the flag for the region at the UK Northern Powerhouse Annual Conference and Exhibition 2017, Manchester, next week (21 and 22 February).
As part of the ‘LEP Zone’ at the Exhibition, the Humber LEP will be promoting the Humber and its growing reputation as the UK’s ‘Energy Estuary’. The LEP will be seeking to highlight the opportunities for investment in the area and tell the story of positive change in the region.

Over £600,000 worth of grants are available now to grow food and rural tourism businesses and support the development of tourism infrastructure projects in the Humber through the government’s £120m Rural Development Programme for England. This investment is part of the Humber’s European Structural and Investment Fund allocation.
Grants are available for investments in:
Business development (tourism businesses)
Neighbouring LEPs in Greater Lincolnshire and York, North Yorkshire, East Riding are also issuing calls for these grants, so applicants in the overlapping
The Humber LEP hosted a Parliamentary Reception at Westminster earlier today, in partnership with Humber business organisations Bondholders, Team Humber Marine Alliance (THMA) and the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce.
The Reception, sponsored by Martin Vickers MP, gathered political leaders and local authorities from the Humber region, alongside national Government and current and potential investors, including Andrew Percy MP, Minister for the Northern Powerhouse.
