INHEN 2.0 Insights
January 5
Welcome to the January 2016 edition of INHEN 2.0 Insights!

INHEN 2.0 Core Topic Profile
HEN 2.0 Data Updates
HRET’s data team has migrated all data from HEN 1.0 into the CDS to use as HEN 2.0 baselines if applicable. The data had to be for a complete year in HRET’s preferred baseline time periods for each measure. If you have conferred rights to the AHA/HRET group for HEN 2.0, your NHSN baselines and monthly data will be pulled into CDS shortly. Please review what was migrated, enter any outstanding baseline data and continue entering monthly data starting with October. All baseline data needs to be entered by Friday, Jan. 29.

Change Management for Leaders Collaborative Kickoff Begins Jan. 28

Plan to join IHA’s statewide Change Management for Leaders Collaborative Kickoff Introductory Webinar on Jan. 28. The Change Management for Leaders Collaborative is all about results. Participants will be equipped with enhanced skills, behavioral routine and action plans to lead their organizations through effective change initiatives with confidence. This experiential and practical course is intended for teams of two to three representatives from each participating organization, including at least one senior leader. The ability to commit to four 60-minute webinars and one live workshop for a total of 12 hours of targeted learning is required. Consistent with our successful roadshow format in HEN 1.0, the live workshop component will be offered in at least three locations across the state.

Active participation will support achievement of the following objectives:

  • Develop a strategic vision for the desired future state of your organization
  • Create and implement a proven action plan for sustainable performance improvement
  • Identify your organization’s unique barriers to change and how to overcome them
  • Hardwire methods to move culture in a positive direction

Update on INHEN 2.0 Site Visits
IHA’s HEN 2.0 team has completed 58 site visits as of today, Jan. 5, and 33 site visits are scheduled from Jan. 1 – Jan. 31. Six site visits are still yet to be scheduled. Thank you to the participating hospitals who have set up hospital visits with us. We appreciate all of you completing your action plans in a timely manner. IHA must visit all hospitals by Friday, Jan. 29, so if you have not scheduled a visit yet, please contact Cheri Goodwin at
An Encyclopedia of Measures (EOM) has been posted for the additional HEN topics. Indiana has chosen to focus on: sepsis, clostridium difficile (C.Diff), failure to rescue and culture of safety (including worker safety). Due to the quantity of measures available for each topic, IHA is reviewing the EOM and will have specific measure recommendations as soon as possible.
If you have any questions about baseline date or the measures, please contact Kaitlyn Boller at
