Introducing the new book, Heart Wisdom, from Diane Turner!

Hi Everyone,

It is almost the mid-point of the year and time is flying by. The summer solstice on Friday, June 21st is both the longest and most light-filled day of the year. It is considered a sacred day in many indigenous cultures. There are rituals and ceremonies occurring each year on this date at sacred places around the world. Each time I visited Peru, I was shown the very spot the sun’s rays would touch the earth on the solstice. Shamans and healers would come to wait for this moment.  It is a time of reconnection, to revisit your intentions and desires, and to open to possibility.
These past few months have been filled with learning and rebalancing. I am actively speaking about possibility, ease, stillness, and connection. I said goodbye to a dear friend this past month, who had been ill for quite some time.  In acknowledging his passing, there was an awareness of many other goodbyes from my past and I experienced a rush of sadness, of deep grief. This experience reminded me of how far my own journey has taken me. One of his favorite songs was Blackbird by the Beatles. There’s a line in the refrain, “I was only waiting for a moment to be free”.  I believe there is great opening and opportunity that happens when we let go, whether it is of a person, a place, or a circumstance. In fact, I’ve been writing about turning losses into gains for an article that will be published in a magazine called, The Credit Professional, coming out this October.
I have scheduled a “Heart Wisdom” retreat in New Mexico this October. A client of mine asked me if I would consider having a retreat with more in-depth experience of some of the rituals and practices from the book and I answered with a resounding YES! This gathering will be held in Jemez Springs, about an hour from Albuquerque. It is a sacred area with natural hot springs and abundant beauty. In addition, for those who are local to Chicago and Tucson, there will be “Heart Wisdom” groups, meeting monthly in which the participants will be guided through each section of the book. The intention of both experiences is to discover your own “heart wisdom” and the details can be found on my website,
Many thanks to my close friend, Mary Jo Barrett for inviting me to offer a morning of self-care at The Center for Contextual Change in Skokie and Chicago.  She has generously supported “Heart Wisdom, A Concise Companion for Creating A Life of Possibility”.
Dr. Zara Larsen, from The Larsen Group and radio host of Circles of Change will be moderating an author’s discussion for the Women’s Financial Group, National Bank of Arizona in August. Of course, I continue to appear on the second Saturday of the month on Circles of Change, 104.1the truth from 10-noon, Arizona time. The show can be streamed live or you can opt in for a rebroadcast on your smart phone by texting the keyword, drzara and entering 313131.  Zara is a great interviewer and I get to speak abouttopics that are timely and represent aspects of what I know and what I teach.
On September 10th, Cara Zaruba Butler, yogi extraordinaire will be hosting a free talk at her yoga room in Northfield, Il.  As we move into harvest season and out of summer, we will be celebrating the abundance in our lives.  Details to follow in my next newsletter.
For those of you who have read “Heart Wisdom”, I appreciate the opportunity to touch so many hearts and be touched by all of you.  It is my deepest intention to teach and serve through the possibility resulting from the weaving together of heart, mind, body and spirit.  Until next time, be in wonder, discover and connect to the joy that is possible.

Here's to Living in Possibility,
