Thank You & Happy Holidays from Canada Without Poverty!

Dear Friends,

This year, Canada finally saw the release of our first national poverty strategy, Opportunity for All. This strategy was a hard-won victory for the tireless anti-poverty advocates have been working towards for years, and while it is far from perfect, it is a critical first step to ending poverty and ensuring all people in Canada are able to realize their human rights.

In 2018, we also saw the largest-ever gathering of people from coast-to-coast-to-coast to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty through our Chew On This! campaign, with over 100 groups in 65 cities and communities taking to the streets to talk about poverty. And we won our ground-breaking freedom of expression case for charities in Canada in June, ensuring that people who live in poverty, and the charitable organizations that represent them like CWP, are able to participate in public policy dialogue about how to make Canada a stronger, healthier, and more equitable society.

All of this work was possible because of your support. Whether you donated to a project, participated in a Right to Housing call to action, volunteered at a Chew On This! event in your community, or spread the message through social media, you made sure the voices of the millions of people living in poverty in Canada were heard at the highest levels.

As we head into a new year, we are so grateful that you are part of the community working to end poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity in Canada. To continue supporting our work, send your one-time or monthly tax-deductible donation in before December 31st and you'll receive a tax receipt for the 2018 year.

Thank you for being part of the movement to end poverty in Canada this year. We hope you will join us in an even more successful 2019!

In gratitude,
