5 tips to slash costs this year
Cost cutting is high on the agenda for business owners at the moment. Nina Hendy outlines why slashing costs is a favourite pastime of business owners as the new financial year rolls around, with most businesses able to reduce costs by about 18 per cent, according to cost cutting firm Expense Reduction Analysts. Immediate savings are commonly found in electricity, insurance, telecommunications, office supplies and recruitment, ERA general manager Brett Coulston says.

1 July Super Changes
The Australian Government is improving superannuation (super) to help all Australians save for their future. From 1 July 2013, you’ll start to benefit from the first of many improvements. These include up to $500 extra if you earn under $37,000 and more compulsory super from your employer. The super reforms will make our super system stronger and more efficient to better protect the retirement savings of our current and future generations. Client Workshops and Webinars
Following feedback from clients, we're introducing bi-monthly workshops and webinars to help you build better businesses. We'll be covering topics like Marketing, Budgeting & Cashflow, Financial Planning and more.
The first in our series of workshops is on Digital Marketing and what you need to know as a business owner. The workshop will be run by our very own Marketing Consultant, Julie Pidgeon from 360 Results. Julie is a specialist in Digital Marketing and works with business owners to help them build strong profiles online. She'll be talking about how you can use it in your business. There'll be lots of practical tips and tools to help you grow your business. The workshop will be held on Wednesday 17th July from 6pm - 8pm at our office and is just $49. ATO Tax 2013 App
The ATO Tax 2013 app puts tax help in your hand at tax time. Available through Google play™ and Apple App Store, you can use the app on your smart phone or tablet to view income tax rates for this year. And use the tax withheld calculator to work out how much tax you pay (although we recommend you get us to do that for you to make sure its right!). After you lodge your tax return, you can use the app to check your tax return's progress. The app includes links to helpful tax information and a list of hot tax topics to help you at tax time.
